Dark souls 3 PC servers have gone offline again just a month after they were brought back again. Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have acknowledged that there is a problem with the game’s online play on Steam.

According to a Tweet on the official Dark Souls account, has acknowledged that  there is an issue with the servers. However, the announcement on twitter did not provide any details on the bug or a timeline on when we can expect a fix. It is therefore uncertain on how long the outage will last. Maybe another 7 months, but maybe things will move a lot more quickly this time.

“At this time, there is a confirmed issue with DARK SOULS III online play via the Steam platform. We are investigating the source of the problem and will inform you as soon as more details become available,” the tweet reads.

After being offline for a grueling seven months, the developers restored the Dark Souls III‘s Steam servers in August. FromSoftware announced in January that a risky exploit was found on the online servers. The developers brought down the servers for all the three games in the franchise to fix the issue. Dark souls 3 came back online in August. However, the online servers for  Dark Souls: Remastered and Dark Souls II remain offline.

It remains unclear if this current issue is related to an exploit discovered back in January. It could be a completely new issue. The tweet did not give details of what the issue is exactly. However the tweet states that FromSoftware is looking into the issue and will give an update as soon as further information is available. FromSoftware stated back in May that it would be gradually restoring servers beginning with Dark Souls 3. However, this could mean that online servers for the other two games in the franchise could remain offline for longer.

Dark Souls 3 is currently available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
