A Plague Tale: Requiem is a fantastically artful and beautiful horror game that manages to immerse the player within its world quickly. Along the way, players will face many hardships as they go through the plague-ridden streets of medieval France. Additionally, the game takes place in the third person, allowing for the players to soak in the environment around them truly.

That being said, the game places a heavy emphasis on stealth mechanics, which is a great thing to see. Firstly, compared to the first title in the A Plague Tale series, the combat in Requiem is significantly improved. Additionally, this makes the game feel all the more real and visceral when you face your opponents as you skulk about throughout the game itself. So basically, if you are looking for a horror game on the PlayStation 5 that stands among the best horror games, then this is certainly a title that you will want to add to your library.

4. Outlast IIXbox Horror Games

Firstly, the Outlast series is one of the most immersive horror franchises available on the PlayStation 5. Secondly, serving as a sequel to the first entry in the series Outlast II had a lot of potential and promise to live up to. This made it extremely important for this game not only to impress. But to accomplish what it set out to accomplish very well. The presentation within the game also improves compared to its predecessor. This time around, players are met with a sect of cultists and must maneuver through them in order to survive.

The ambiance in this game is absolutely chilling. This really adds to the scare factor of the game, making it feel all the more frightening. The game also has a rather impressive difficulty, making the experience feel all the more challenging. This is great for players who thought that the first title in the series was a little too inactive. So if you are in the market for one of the most immersive horror games on the PlayStation 4, definitely give Outlast II a try. You assuredly, won't be disappointed.

3. Bloodborne

Bloodborne is one of those titles from the PlayStation 4 era that has stood the test of time. This title does a brilliant job of incorporating gothic horror and Lovecraftian horror elements to make its own unique world. Players will be able to create their own unique class with an array of weapons to choose from. Each of the game's weapons has its own playstyle and uses in combat. This is great as it gives the game quite a bit of variety. Players will need to use every resource at their disposal to deal with the gruesome monstrosities that can be found throughout Yharnam.

The Lovecraftian horrors that are depicted in this game still to this day are able to give players chills. In addition, the creature design, as well as the overall world design, make this game one of the best and most atmospheric horror games to this day. 2. The Last of Us Part 1

Simply stated, The Last of Us Part 1 is one of the best games in recent memory. Added to this, the horror elements within the game make it a title that few would want to play with the lights off. To this day, the sounds of Clickers and other infected are enough to send chills down players' spines. Players will once again be able to see the world through the eyes of the main characters, Joel and Ellie. However, several changes and improvements have been made to the remake of the game.

These inclusions include things such as an improved combat system and an increased sense of exploration. This is great and truly serves to bring the game up to modern standards. This is wonderful for any The Last of Us fan, for sure. However, it should be noted that the omission of the multiplayer did leave some fans wanting more. Alongside all of the content that one would expect in this game, it also includes DLC from the original game as part of this title. So if you are looking for one of the best horror games on the PlayStation 5 that has an emphasis on narrative depth, definitely check this out.

1. Resident Evil 4Best Weapons in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Now for our last entry, we have a title that needs little to no introduction. When the original Resident Evil 4 was released, many fans of the series were skeptical of its new over-the-shoulder view. However, as time would show, this became one of the game's most beloved aspects in hindsight. This game sees players play as Leon Kennedy, a member of the Racoon PD that is tasked with finding and retrieving the President's daughter Ashley Graham. Along the way, they will meet cult leaders, people who are infected with some type of virus. As well as many other obstacles

This means that players will have to be on their toes throughout the game's runtime. The close-quarters combat, and the sheer number of enemies make this game feel wonderfully claustrophobic at times. This adds to the sense of tension as you move throughout the game. The visuals for this game are absolutely stunning and allow the player to see the game as it may have appeared in their heads all those years ago. So if you are looking for one of the best horror games on the PlayStation 5, then Resident Evil 4 is a must for any player's library.
