BattleCakes Will Allow You To Befriend Enemies

The small, Midwestern game studio, Volcano Bean, is bringing you the snack-size, 2D top-down, isometric RPG (role-playing game) BattleCakes, full of epic sweetness. Now, as you play as a customizable cupcake (Birthday Sprinkle), you may want to overeat, after staring at beautifully decorated yumminess (with a coloring palette and frosting style), just taunting you to readily take a serving size bite. Explore Pasteleria, an enchanted, pastel-colored kingdom, where the land’s inhabitants are pastries and cakes. Players can explore the imaginative world while traversing as a cupcake. If that does not make you feel like a mascot or just like an excessive pile of sugary goodness on someone’s tastebuds, then put the cherry on top.

There are 6 towns, 6 dungeons, an overworld map, and 5-15 hours of gameplay. Settle disputes or peacefully resolve issues with compassion, spotting food-inspired enemies (like Gumdroplins and Butterscreams). Win critically-acclaimed, boring battles by doing the one positive thing that is ever so complicated to do and that is to befriend your enemies. Charm your enemies by filling up their health bar with green.

You will meet friends along the way, like Midnite Truffle and Red Velvet. Even make friends with bosses, which is often said not to do in reality. Also, there is a moment where you can pat all of the Jellyroll cats. Currently, BattleCakes is in development, planned to release in 2021, for Xbox One, PC, and Mac.

Just how do you plan to fight off your enemies, cupcake? Even if you fight, because you are a cupcake, it is considered a food fight. There is no need for physical violence in BattleCakes though.
