Bad News Surrounds Dying Light 2 Update from Techland

After a year of wallowing in the shadows, Techland has made the ultimate decision to step up and deliver an update on the highly-anticipated Dying Light 2. Unfortunately, it might not be the best news for followers of the game. This stems from a scroll of messages from Techland's community manager, who goes by the name “Uncy” on Discord. Although not the worst of news — it definitely isn't the information we were all hoping for this year.

Last week, Techland told fans of the game to expect updates on their Discord server tomorrow (March 16th). However, they also made it clear that our expectations should be kept relatively low following the notes. With no new light to be shed on the official release date, it seems as though the spool of updates tomorrow will be more of a situation report rather than any sort of concrete content. So, not exactly what fans were expecting after a year of clutching at straws.

One positive thing that has come of this is that the rumors of Dying Light 2 being canned last year have finally been shot down. Thanks to one of the few messages from the community manager, all concerns over the sequel being scrapped are being put to rest. So that's something. Though, we're still completely in the dark over when the game is actually set to release. Perhaps that's a story for another time?

While we're not clear on the full details for the upcoming sequel, we are confident that Techland is working at full capacity to assure it meets all of our expectations. Here's hoping 2021 will see in Dying Light 2 on a variety of platforms without any complications. I think that's something we all need, to be honest — especially after 2020.
