Alan Wake 2 Release Date Unofficially Announced

Matthew Porretta, the leading voice actor behind the titular protagonist in Alan Wake 2, has shed light on the sequel's long overdue release window.

In a recent Q&A with Monsters, Madness, and Magic, voice actor Matthew Porretta mistakingly leaked the release window for Remedy Entertainment's long-awaited Alan Wake 2. And if what Porretta is saying turns out to be true, then we'll be seeing the torch-and-quill-wielding author as early as October of this year.

“I've been working on it,” Porretta noted during the interview with Monsters, Madness, and Magic. “That's supposed to come out in October. We're in the middle of working on it now. In fact, I was just in Finland last week. […] I love that character and I love working for Remedy. They're amazing.”

October, then?

Of course, those in the know about all things Alan Wake have been saying that, in spite of Remedy Entertainment's rather questionable radio silence these past two years, the upcoming sequel will definitely launch at some point in 2023. Though, to be brutally honest, we can see why several others have already shot down such a claim, what with the developer keeping a lot of the game's details rather quiet since unveiling it back in 2021.

The good news is, with the next PlayStation Showcase due to arrive next week, there is a slight chance that Remedy will pop up to formally announce the game and staple a release date to it. Until then, we'll have to take Porretta's words with a slight pinch of salt. After all, actions speak much louder than words, and right now, all we have to go by are, well, words.
