Asobo Studios' A Plague Tale: Innocence will be dropping on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch tomorrow.

A Plague Tale: Requiem might be a ways off yet, but that hasn't stopped Asobo from tiding us over with a polished version of the first game. A Plague Tale: Innocence, with all its sparkling bells and whistles, will finally launch on next-gen hardware tomorrow. And the good news is — Xbox Game Pass already has the title bolted to its waistline. And PlayStation Plus, conveniently, is practically giving away the upgraded edition as part of the monthly freebies for July. So, win-win basically.

The rats are coming…

“Follow the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history. Hunted by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats, Amicia and Hugo will come to know and trust each other. As they struggle to survive against overwhelming odds, they will fight to find purpose in this brutal, unforgiving world.”

A Plague Tale: Innocence, in case you were wondering, went on to win a slew of awards for Best Story-Rich Game, Best Art Direction, Best Design, and even a couple of GOTY accolades following its 2019 release. And now, Asobo Studio will be tying loose ends and working to deliver a sequel for 2022.

You can check out the trailer for A Plague Tale: Requiem below. Although, if you haven't sunk into the rat-infested tale driven from Innocence yet — then we'd strongly suggest you do so first.

A Plague Tale: Innocence releases tomorrow on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Switch. You can follow the updates for the next game over on the official Asobo handle here.
