A New King Kong Game Has Been Confirmed

Updated on

DeVito Artworks has announced its partnership with GameMill Entertainment for a new King Kong game.

Well, if you thought your time on Skull Island was just about over, then you had best refresh your senses, as King Kong isn't quite ready to phase out of the spotlight just yet. That's according to DeVito Artworks, a gaming firm that has recently announced its partnership with GameMill Entertainment, which will in turn lead to a whole new triple-A action game for a multitude of platforms.

“I could not be more excited to be working with GameMill Entertainment's talented team that will provide both King Kong fans and gamers the chance to experience King Kong's primordial world in a gamified way,” Joe DeVito of DeVito Artworks commented. “We continue to expand our King Kong licensing program in various categories including VR arcade games, collectibles, comic books and board games”.

What Can We Expect?

So, what is the upcoming game all about, exactly? Well, that's just it. At present, neither GameMill Entertainment nor DeVito Artworks have actually mentioned anything outside of the official announcement. Therefore, if you were hoping to see any form of gameplay trailer or release date, then you may want to put a pin in it and return in a few months or so—at least until the details have been ironed out.

Of course, if the next game is to follow in a similar pattern as 2005's action-adventure hit on PlayStation 2, then we can no doubt expect to see something of a story-driven first-person shooter sort of getup. But of course, it's all but speculation at the moment, as it will continue to be until GameMill Entertainment makes a formal announcement over the coming months. Until then, rest assured that the king of Skull Island still has plenty of life left in him yet.
