7 Games Will Be Leaving Game Pass on January 15

Updated on

Listen up, Disney fans. You may want to sit down for this next part. Game Pass, being the cruel platform it is, will be banishing Kingdom Hearts 3 on January 15, along with six other great games that have, if anything, overstayed their welcome since rolling out onto the subscription module way back when.

As well as Kingdom Hearts 3 being sent out to pasture in a couple of weeks, Game Pass will also part ways with Desperados III, Ghost of a Tale, Mount & Blade: Warband, Pandemic, Yiik: A Postmodern RPG, and finally, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, on account of it becoming a free-to-play game on January 12.

Of course, it's not all doom and gloom for Game Pass subscribers. Although a batch will drop out of the network, another great selection will, thankfully, board the nexus to replace them.

So, what's coming to the service this January?

January 4

  • Gorogoa (Cloud, Console, PC)
  • Olija (Cloud, Console, PC)
  • The Pedestrian (Cloud, Console, PC)

January 6

  • Embr (Cloud, Console, PC)
  • Mass Effect Legendary Edition, via EA Play (Console and PC)
  • Outer Wilds (Cloud, Console, PC)

January 13

  • Spelunky 2 (Console, PC)
  • The Anacrusis, via game preview (Console, PC)

With the likes of Mass Effect Legendary Edition coming to Game Pass, many would agree that the blow has been somewhat softened enough to keep the pennies lining Microsoft's weighty pockets. Plus, who doesn't love Outer Wilds, am I right? Here's hoping they keep it around long enough for people to experience this time around.

You can pick up your Game Pass subscription plan for $9.99 a month. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you can climb a tier and grab an Ultimate subscription, which gives you access to EA Play on top of other discounts and Game Pass titles.

So, will you be setting aside some time for the leavers this week? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
