5 Massive Games That Will Make 2020

Updated on

The year has just started, and there are a lot of promising games ahead of us. 2020 will also be a year of new consoles, and we are eager to see what capabilities will Xbox Series X and PS5 bring to the table. These are the games that will make 2020.

The Last Of Us 2

Naughty Dog and Sony have both purposely been quiet about this much-awaited adventure/ survival sequel, which has only added to the anticipation. This time, you will primarily play as Ellie, who's now all grown up.  The atmosphere will be as unsettling as ever, as you navigate through a zombie-infested post-apocalyptic Seattle. The Last Of Us 2 will put more emphasis on combat, which looks very sharp in this gameplay. Find out more about the story here.

Cyberpunk 2077 is what you might get if you combine Blade Runner, RPG elements and, of course, Keanu Reeves. From the creators of Witcher comes another ambitious project that aims to challenge the confines of RPG. Graphically, the game looks amazing, thanks to the top-of-the-line motion capture technology used. Cyberpunk 2077 will be fast-paced and chaotic, with many moments that blend FPS and RPG elements into an interesting mix. The game will offer you wildly different playstyles, depending on the enhancements and skillsets you acquire. The gameplay video showcased that Cyberpunk 2077 is also really atmospheric, giving an indication that CD Projekt Red has all of its bases covered. Expectations are huge, but it still remains to be seen if this is one of the games that will make 2020 more interesting.

Dying Light 2

The original surprised us with its frantic pace and good atmosphere, and it seems that guys at Techland are doing their best to push its strengths to the limit. Judging by the , combat, and parkour elements are even better than the original. The plot is going to be choice-driven, which should add to the replay value. Speaking of that, developers have confirmed that the story mode will last you around 20 hours, but the total content is 5 times as long. We expect adrenaline-infused gameplay that will keep us hooked till the end, and then some.

Overwatch 2

With the immense success of the original, it makes sense that Blizzard decided to capitalize on its strengths. Overwatch 2 will have many new features like new heroes, maps, and interesting multiplayer modes like Push. Some of them will also be translated to Overwatch 1 completely free. Judging by this badass announcement trailer, Blizzard has taken its time to develop stronger between characters and tie them in a story that looks very promising. Additionally, PvE will now feature Hero and Story missions, with former supposed to be very replayable. Overwatch 2 should be out by the end of the year. Till then, you can look at the gameplay here.

Marvel's Avengers

Games That Will Make 2020: Marvel's Avengers

Square Enix/Marvel partnership has a lot of potential (Source: Reboot)

It's interesting to note that Marvel's Avengers will offer a brand new and nuanced story that's not linked to the known Marvel universe. This won't be a casual action-adventure game either. In fact, Marvel's Avengers will offer a lot of RPG elements that should provide the game with additional depth. The story mode will also be playable co-op, with up to 3 friends. However, the most interesting feature is a multiplayer mode that promises to take us on an epic journey. We speculate that Square Enix may take an approach similar to Destiny. If that's the case, we may have a GOT at our hands.
