5 Games We Want to See at Summer Gaming Fest 2022

The Summer Gaming Fest 2022 event kicks off on June 9th, with a series of showcases slated in the weeks (or months) following the event. This event is identical to the in-person E3 trade show for the game industry, which was canceled due to the covid-19 epidemic. The main exception is that it’s instead available to internet viewers all around the world (for free).

The Summer Gaming Fest 2022 is a crucial event for the gaming community as developers, publishers, and hardware manufacturers take center stage to reveal upcoming games and related merchandise for the first time ever!

Last year at Summer Gaming Fest 2021, we got our first glimpse at Elden Ring, Tiny Tina's Wonderland, and Death Stranding: Director's Cut gameplay. And while this year doesn’t look too promising for any big announcements, there are a few games we’d want to see on the show’s online livestream. Without further ado, here are five games we want to see at summer gaming fest 2022. Take a look below!

5. Remedy Games

5 Games We Want to See at Summer Gaming Fest 2022

Remedy Games is working on a lot of projects, and we hope to see at least one of them revealed during the Summer Gaming Fest 2022. The studio is the creator of popular titles like Control, Alan Wake, and Max Payne

Rumors about a sequel to Alan Wake‘s survival horror game may suggest a probable sneak peak of what's to come. The game appears to be in its final stages of development, with some additional work required to complete it. While the initial release date is in 2023, and given that the project was first announced at the Game Awards in December 2021, perhaps there may be newer updates on the project during the Summer Gaming Fest 2022?

Remedy Games is also working on three other games, including a sequel to Control codenamed Condor, a bigger Control game, codenamed Heron, as well as a PvE online shooter called Vanguard. There’s quite a roster there! (The gaming studio does believe in committing to multiple projects simultaneously). Our only wonder is whether there will be a reveal of either one of these games at the Summer Gaming Fest 2022, or perhaps, some concept art sneak peak, maybe?

4. Elden Ring

Last year, witnessing Elden Ring‘s brilliant gameplay trailer for the first time was an exhilarating experience. It was obvious how much work and effort went into the game's reveal. Since then, there have been newer updates, including one that the game will have downloadable content (DLC). Still, we’re quite excited to see more of what Elden Ring has to offer at Summer Gaming Fest 2022.

In any event, Elden Ring has established a high standard for RPGs and gaming in general. Most notably, its massive open-world concept, which sets a new standard for deep and meaningful experiences. With each new patch, the game's stability, map, and playability improve for the better (or worse). It may make things more difficult, like when a new patch lowered the duration of the Cerulean Hidden Tear, reducing the focus point consumption required to cast spells. Overall, it will be intriguing to see what's new and whether there may be a sequel to look forward to.

3. Gotham Knights

We don't know much about Gotham Knights. Sure. The 2021 cinematic trailer helped clear out a few wrinkles, but we're still intrigued by its overall concept. Gotham Knights will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 25, 2022. It's an open-world action RPG in which players take on the role of a hero tasked with saving Gotham from itself.

As far as we know, the Court of Owls are the game's villains, with popular characters like the Penguin making an appearance. We anticipate the combat styles to resemble RPG gameplay components. Aside from that, it's quite hazy. If Gotham Knights is not unveiled during Summer Gaming Fest 2022, perhaps Hogwarts Legacy will? Let’s wait and see.

2. Call of Duty: Warzone 2

Call of Duty fans will undoubtedly be expecting a debut of the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone 2 during the Summer Gaming Fest 2022. A new battle royale map will feature in this next Call of Duty version. while the initial release date has not yet been announced, it is anticipated to be in 2023.

Activision also confirms that the game will be released alongside Modern Warfare 2. In any case, having an early peek at the Summer Gaming Fest 2022 will immensely help in ironing out any wrinkles in the exact gameplay changes. Especially given that all we know is there will be major changes to Warzone's current gameplay and no weapon integrations but no other specifics.

1. God of War Ragnarok

We can't wait to see God of War Ragnarok; just thinking about it makes it super exciting. At the very least, we have confirmation that the game will release in 2022, but we don't know much about it, which leads us to believe that Summer Gaming Fest 2022 may be where we see some type of reveal?

God of War Ragnarok is the sequel to God of War (2018) and the final entry to the series. It’s a third-person action-adventure game by Santa Monica Studio that will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Perhaps Sony will announce the game at a separate event following the Summer Gaming Fest 2022?

This PlayStation exclusive appears to be a present that is just around the bend yet is still a long way away. Although, South Korea did give the game an '18 and above' rating, so it might be a lot closer than we think!

All in all, this year’s Summer Gaming Fest 2022 does hold high expectations. The event will start on Thursday 9th June 2022, so make sure to tune in to the online live stream on Youtube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, or Twitter at 11 am (PST) or 2 pm (EST).
