For instance, this year we just recently received God of War 2018 for PC. And its highly anticipated follow-up, God of War Ragnarok won't be made available on PC when it launches on November 9th. In that regard, being a PC gamer can sometimes be a double-edged sword. However, that's exactly why we want to look at the best games coming to PC this summer.

This summer, a number of new PC games are coming out, many of which you probably don't want to miss. With that, there are a couple of console exclusives that are now being remastered for PC. Thus, granting the opportunity to enjoy the games for the first time on the platform. Which, in fact, were announced at the Summer Game Fest. Can you name the two titles we're referring to? 5. Stray

Stray - Teaser Trailer | PS5

Release Date: July 19, 2022

It's no secret that cats are popular among PC users. Not in a strange way, but it is nice to have our curious feline companions hang out with us while we play video games all day. And that's another reason why most of us are thrilled to spend time in their, er, paws, with Stray on PC. If the game hadn't been released for PC, you can almost guarantee it would have resulted in a riot from the community. Fortunately, it will be available on PC and PlayStation consoles on July 19, 2022, but PC players will likely find this to be particularly exciting.

The reason being, that the city life in Stray looks to be highly vibrant and futuristic. That means gamers who are fortunate enough to own a 30 series GeForce RTX card can benefit from its detailed world with some exquisitely detailed graphics. Since this game is all about exploration, seeing these locations come to life with an array of colors will undoubtedly be a highlight. We don't know what to anticipate in terms of gameplay, but knowing cats, we can bet there will be some mischief about.

4. Saints Row

SAINTS ROW Official Announce Trailer

Release Date: August 23, 2022

If you are unfamiliar with the Saints Row series, you can best think of it as the GTA series' full-on parody counterpart. With even greater extremes of wild and crazy things to do. Gamers loved Saints Row III and IV on PC for that aspect. That's also why it didn't take long for PC gamers to start modding it to further push the strangeness boundaries of the game. Resulting in a much more extreme version of the game itself, and exactly what gamers love so much about the title.

And with the new Saints Row game announced and coming to PC this summer, players are already gearing up for the wild adventure. Since this game offers some of the funniest and craziest gaming experiences you'll ever have, you can be sure that many players will add mods to it right away. That's why you definitely don't want to miss out, especially if you've never played any of the previous games. And thankfully, you don't have to play the past titles to fully enjoy the new Saints Row.

3. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum - Gameplay Reveal Trailer | PS5 & PS4 Games

Release Date: September 1, 2022

Don't be fooled by the PlayStation trailer, as Lord of the Rings: Gollum is indeed coming to PC at the end of summer. And with so many action-packed games releasing, it will be nice to end your summer with a captivating stealth game. Not only that, but from a world, you most likely already know all too well. As we have seen quite a few LOTR titles in the past, so it will be interesting to see one based on one of the series' most famous characters, Gollum.

Knowingly, Gollum is not a fighter, but he is cunning, quick, and moves about the shadows. This should take on a new type of gameplay, different from the LOTR games we've seen in the past. Which typically see you as a warrior at the front line of the action, killing orcs. Plus, with Gollum's evil alter-ego, Smeagol also being incorporated into the game, it's really shaping up to be an exciting experience. Another one, you don't want to miss out on PC.

2. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered | PC Reveal Trailer

Release Date: August 12, 2022

Everyone's favorite web-slinging superhero is finally making his way to PC with Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered. This has been a grueling long wait, as we saw the remastered version of the game come to PS5 in 2020, but no news was made for PC. That was until the surprise trailer was unveiled at the Summer Games Fest, which expectedly received crowd applause. However, this version offers much more than just the original game, which is the greatest reward for waiting.

On top of the base game, PC gamers will also get The City That Never Sleeps DLC and three new narrative chapters to expand Spider-Man's story. This will surely feel like an original release for PC gamers, with a lot of new content to dive into. And with the original game seeing high praise from reviewers, we have high expectations for the game on PC. However, there won't likely be any complaints from us as long as we can freely swing around the reimagined New York City.

1. The Last of Us: Part 1 Remake

The Last of Us Part I - Announce Trailer | PS5 Games

Release Date: September 2, 2022

As we said, it can be a double edge sword being a PC gamer as we often miss out on some awesome exclusives. One of the most notable is The Last of Us series, which rests among the most renowned and top story-driven video games ever. The first game was originally released back in 2013, which nearly marks a decade-long wait for gamers to enjoy the game on PC. Let's just hope it's not another decade before we see The Last of Us Part II release for PC.

However, the games coming to PC this summer couldn't have come at a better time. That's because HBO'S The Last of Us TV show, is expected to air sometime in 2023. If we're lucky enough it will be early spring 2023. Which should give you more than enough time to get through the full story of the first game. Which in fact, the first season of the show is based on. Aside from that, the game should offer players who are experiencing it on PC for the first time a more beautiful gaming experience than what console gamers received in 2013.
