Games Coming to PC October

There’s never been a better time to own a PC. Just in case you don’t own one already. Unlike the old days, PC games are on a whole new level, incorporating the latest tech for all the special interests you may have. And with each new month, the roster fills up with much cooler games to keep that summer vibe running high.

This month, we’ve got a cool selection of games coming up, and to make your work easier, we’re compiling only the top five essential games coming to PC (October 2022), from worst to best. So, in case any of these games aren’t on your wishlist, you know what exactly to do: add them up, will you? Here comes the first.

5. Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed - The First Preview

However simple Ghostbusters is, it’s always a blast playing either one of the Ghostbusters games. You could either play as a ghost, the haunter, or a ghostbuster, the hunter. Plus, you could bring a friend along for an extra dose of fun, teaming up in 4v1 co-op play to either haunt the civilians or chase and trap the spirits in museums, hotels, and more, preventing them from taking over the physical world.

It gets much more complex, though. There are elements of teleportation, flying between posts, summoning spirits, customization, upgrades, and all that fun stuff. Think Dead by Daylight, Luigi’s Ghost Mansion, or Prop Hunt. You’ll also meet Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) and Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), who are two of the original characters from the Ghostbusters media franchise. Rest assured, fun will come what may.

Release Date: 18th October 2022

4. Scorn

Scorn Official Gameplay Trailer | PC Gaming Show 2022

If Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed sounds a little underwhelming for you, you may want to consider taking on the upcoming and long-awaited Scorn first-person biopunk survival horror adventure game. Fans of the film Alien will feel at home here, spotting familiarities in the work of Swiss artist H.R. Giger, and even more fans of the atmospheric nightmarish graphics that send a chill down your spine every two minutes.

But not everything on there spells' doom. ‘There is some light shooting here and there and a definite oddity and a somber tapestry you may find gripping. The developers decided to exclude dialogue and let the somber tapestry speak for itself. It’s also rated “Mature audiences,” so our two cents: only pick this one up if it’s a gore you’re fascinated by, and never when you’re having a meal.

Release Date: 21st October 2022

3. Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights - World Premiere Trailer

Action RPGs are a tried and true recipe, so if you’re looking for the next hit game, Gotham Knights is likely the gem to go for. In a little (not so little) twist, though, Batman is presumed dead. So, waiting in the wings to fill in for the caped crusader and save Gotham City from the Court of Owls is the crew of four DC heroes: Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin.

It’s definitely interesting to see how this plays out without the star of the show. Will Batman be pleased upon his return, or will he have to cut his “vacay” short? If there’s even a “vacation,” who knows? You can have up to two players for that extra dose of fun with friends or family. And there’s no better time to have them with you, as the Gotham streets are quite dynamic and interactive. Plus, the story is unlike anything we’ve seen before in any of the comics, except for the villains who are popular in Gotham, including the Penguin and Mr. Freeze.

After so many delays, postponements, and re-release dates, hopefully the final date in the upcoming month will bring in the most interesting and exciting gaming experience yet.

Release Date: 21st October 2022

2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

Remember when the first Call of Duty came out? For almost two decades now, Call of Duty’s fanbase has amassed over the years, with Infinity Ward and the team constantly releasing new entries to keep the dream alive. Now, it’s only a few weeks away from the 19th Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s PC release, and we can’t keep still.

So, what’s different this time? Well, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which Infinity Ward claims will be their best work yet. Some fan favorites from previous releases, like Captain Price and Soap, will return, so keep an eye out for them. Graphics-wise? We’re expecting a step up that takes advantage of the latest hardware and shows us exactly what the 2022 era is capable of.

So far, we know there is a new standalone multiplayer Special Operations mode and features, plus the previously limited enemy spawn areas, and less in-game chatter is no more. Overall, there’s plenty to look forward to in the combined online, co-op Spec Ops, and campaign mode experiences – hopefully not too addicting.

Release Date: 28th October 2022

1. Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 Announce Cinematic | “Zero Hour”

At the top of the five essential games coming to PC (October 2022) is no less than Overwatch 2. Fans couldn’t sit still when the first game came out. And even though it’s been a few years since then, the game stands as an outstanding contender for the best online FPS games ever.

Set on a near-future earth, Overwatch brought in-depth content and Pixar film charisma that feels and looks great. Overwatch 2 is said to completely rework the original, with the option to cross over your progress to the sequel. I mean, what more can one ask for?

Even though it’s been quite some time since we got our hands on the first Overwatch, having a similar fun and fast-paced game, with the freedom to cross-play, cross-progress (including cosmetics), and a free-to-play option, is something a lot of fans have long waited for. Will Blizzard achieve the same fresh look and feel, essentially capturing lightning in a bottle once again? Fingers crossed on this one.

Release Date: 4th October 2022
