Choosing a suitable game for a party can be tricky. There are quite a few things to consider. Among them is the type of party you’re hosting and what options your attendees will enjoy the most.

You’d also want to pick a game that’s easy to play from the get-go. The simpler the instructions, the better. Thankfully, Switch has got you covered in a wide variety of party games. Each one focused on spicing up your social experiences.

So whether you’re in the mood for a quick-thinking light-hearted game to share among friends or want to compete in a virtual co-op party game, we’ve got you covered. Here are five of the best party games on Switch in 2022 to check out!

5. Just Dance

Just Dance 2022 - Full Song List Trailer - Nintendo Switch

A dance throwdown could take your party to a whole new level. So what better way is there than through a rhythm multiplayer video game? For some, Just Dance is a fitness game that is effortless and entertaining for guests of up to six players. You only need six Joy-Con controllers to act as motion sensors that keep track of your movements.

It’s pretty grand as all players need to do is dance along. And even with more guests, you could always have them as spectators cheering on all the fun. The dance moves are legit fun, from popular moves you’ve always wanted to learn to fast-paced hardcore ones. Furthermore, the songs list is impressive, so you don’t have to worry about song choices.

Alternatively, you could get the Just Dance Unlimited edition that offers more than 500 popular hits. Additionally, you get new additions each month.  Ubisoft has provided a kids mode where song selections and dance moves are limited to kid-friendly vibes. If this option sounds like your spice of fun, why not try it out for your next party and let us know how it goes.

4. Clubhouse Games

Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics - Announcement Trailer - Nintendo Switch

Truth be told. Traditional card games are always going to hold up as special party throwdowns. But instead of the hustle in buying individual card games, each one holding huge potential for getting lost or damaged, you could get yourself Clubhouse Games instead.

The perks to Clubhouse Games are intensely great. From accessing up to 51 traditional card games all on one platform via Switch to switching varieties at the moment, you could host an entire game night party with just one game.

A few popular go-to available go-to games include chess, poker games, and checkers. Each one has multiplayer modes for bringing on friends and family.  It goes without saying that some games on here are familiar to most people, so it’s easy to get started on the fly. Also, most games are kid-friendly, so you always use them for sleepover parties.

Clubhouse Games comes with a handheld mode where you can set it up on a table in your living room, select the game you’d like to play, and have players drop in and out of the game.

3. Overcooked

Overcooked! All You Can Eat - Launch Trailer - Nintendo Switch

Mayhem games are compelling, especially when you play them with others. But Overcooked takes mayhem to a case scenario of making meals in the craziest kitchen of them all.  It might seem like an easy peasy thing to do. But before you make up your mind, why not try it out on one of your party hangouts and see how things pan out?

Your task is to cook. Not to worry, though, as the ingredients and recipes for each meal are usually familiar and easy to remember. The challenge comes in when you’ve got to cooperate with your team of up to four players. Then, navigate between the chaos of moving counters and environmental obstacles within a set time limit.

If you have more guests, the wait is usually pretty short as it’s a fast-paced game. So you’re kept on your toes as you work towards delegating tasks and working on cooking meals as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Keep in mind that it could get frustrating when players lose patience with team members. Overall, it’s a great game that employs strategy and working together for a fruitful hang out with friends or family.

2. Mario Party Superstars

Mario Party Superstars - Overview Trailer

The Mario Party series is long-running and holds a soft spot in our hearts, so we could not wind up without mentioning it. If you haven’t played either one, you could always try it out with friends.

Unlike Overcooked, Mario Party Superstars offers an online multiplayer mode. So you could set up online hangouts playing the game. Taking the form of traditional board games, Mario Party Superstars has you rolling dice and making your way around a board to complete the game’s objectives.

Mainly, Mario Party Superstars offers up to five boards and100 minigames. You’ll also get a great sense of using the Joy-Con controller to make accurate moves on the boards. Overall, you’re sure to get plenty of modern variety of content that is pretty fun and charming to play.

1. Keep Talking, and Nobody Explodes

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes - Pre-Purchase Trailer - Nintendo Switch

We’ve saved up top-spot for parties with its core aspect focused on gaming. Depending on the crowd, you may want to play games in the background or make it the center of all events. If your goal is the latter, Keep Talking, and Nobody Explodes is a puzzle gem worth checking out.

In films, the few moments before a bomb explodes are extremely tense. This game employs those few moments to task players with disarming a bomb. While one player works on defusing it, the others use manuals to help them save the day. It’s bound to get intensely fun with a few laughs to spare. Hence, the ‘keep talking’ aspect of the game.

So that’s it for Party Games on Switch in 2022. Do let us know in the comments below or on our socials here if you agree with our listing? Or the experience you have trying either one of these games.
