Top 10 Switch Games Rolling Out in 2022
Here goes the list of much-awaited Switch games!
1. Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as well as Pokemon Shield and Sword were well-received in 2021. But in 2022, Pokemon fans are looking forward to the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
With this new game, players will be transported once again to the Sinoh region. Unlike many other Pokemon games, this one won’t be an open-world game. The spin-off seems to be more of an adventure title. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is all ready to roll out on January 28.
2. Splatoon 3
Nintendo’s superhit series Splatoon has its third game lined up. This time, the Inklings and Octolings will splash each other in a scorching desert. Players will get to explore Splatsville, Splatlands, and whatever the vivid desert has to offer! Splatoon 3 is expected to be loaded with new weapons, mechanics, and customizations.
Splatoon 1 and 2 were both super fun and Splatoon 3 seems to be equally exciting. Back in February 2021, the developers had announced a Splatoon 3 up for a 2022 release and we hope they stick to their words. As you can guess, no certain date has been declared for Splatoon 3 release.
3. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
Nobody in their dreams had imagined that another Mario plus Raving Rabbids game would be created. The title was unveiled during the E3 2021, and you can imagine the excitement it caused. Ubisoft is helming the development and the game will be published on Nintendo.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battles. The upcoming game will have a format similar to Kingdom Battles. But this time, it has a galactic theme with lots of planets to explore. The Mario and Raving Rabbid crossover is scheduled to release in 2022. However, no official date has been confirmed yet.
4. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout
If you like battle royale, but with cartoons, then Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a game that you should keep tabs on. The game is already a hit on PS4 and PCs and the action-packed multiplayer is making its way to the Switch.
For the unknowns, Fall Guys is a rather silly battle royale game wherein you face multiple obstacles, compete with 60 players, and be the last one standing. Unlike typical battle royales, you will be pitted against opponents in a random mini-game. The cute avatars are a mix between minions and jelly beans.
The Switch version was supposed to be out in the 2021 summer. However, it has faced some delays and might roll out in 2022.
5. Windjammers 2
We got the first glimpse of the game back in 2019. After a short delay, Windjammers 2, the popular frisbee game, will soon be available on Switch. Dotemu has made some changes to the iconic sports game that was a hit on arcades around 27 years ago. Windjammers 2 is all set to launch on January 20 and we cannot be more excited!
6. Life is Strange Remastered Collection
The remastered version of Life is Strange was supposed to release in 2021. However, the project faced some delays and the game will now roll out on February 1. The Square Enix remastered title has two games – ‘Life is Strange Remastered’ and ‘Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered’.
Life is Strange games are well-known for their rich storylines and intense character development. With stunning visuals and animations, the upcoming remastered version will surely be a treat!
7. Advanced Wars 1 + 2: Re-boot Camp
Advanced Wars 1 + 2: Re-boot Camp, a remake of Advanced Wars and Advanced Wars 2, is all set to released in 2022. The game was supposed to roll out in 2021.
Just like its predecessors, this title is all about defending your land, controlling the military units, capturing territories, and keeping peace. Re-boot Camp will feature two campaign modes from the previous games. The newest feature is the Versus Mode wherein you can fight against your friends and show off army-commanding skills.
As of now, no specific date has been announced for Advanced Wars 1 + 2: Re-boot Camp. However, Nintendo’s product description claims that the game will be released in Spring 2022.
8. Kirby and the Forgotten Land
The adorable pink puffball is back! This time, Kirby seems to be rescuing kidnapped creatures on a strange island. The mysterious place is full of abandoned buildings and powerful enemies. Even though the game has a dystopian backdrop, the visuals are vibrant.
This time, the game has taken on an open-world action-adventure format. Players can explore the 3D island. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is speculated to launch in the early months of 2022.
9. Bayonetta 3
The popular Bayonetta series announced the third installment at The Game Awards in 2017. It was speculated that Bayonetta 3 would roll out in 2019, which did not happen. Since the announcement, the two games – Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 were ported to Switch.
As fans were losing hope, a 2022 window was confirmed. Finally, the third entry might get launched this year. So far, nothing much has been revealed about the gameplay other details. We might expect Bayonetta 3 to be an action-packed hack-and-slash like its predecessors.
The description on Nintendo’s site says that Bayonetta 3 will be set in Tokyo and there would be a new feature ‘Demon Masquerade’. Of course, there are new powerful enemies, new mechanics, and new allies in the upcoming game.
10. Pac-Man Museum +
Pac-Man Museum + is more of a compilation title rather than a new game. The upcoming title will include 14 games collected over 42 years. This compilation is a direct sequel to the 2014 compilation Pac-Man Museum.
While there is no dearth of Pac-Man games on Switch, the upcoming entry will have the early arcade version as well as some later console versions. Pac-Man 256, the mobile version, is also included. Players will be able to explore and customize a virtual arcade in the game.
So far, no release date has been announced. But Pac-Man Museum + is gearing up for an early 2022 release.
Apart from these much-awaited switch games, several big games might roll out in 2022. For instance, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, OlliOlli World, and many more exciting releases lined up.
Some of the hottest speculations in the gaming community are The Legend of Zelda: The Breathe of the Wild 2 and Metroid Prime 4. Both the games are said to have a 2022 window. Of course, even though the games have a 2022 window, they may or may not come out in 2022. But we can surely expect a lot of big games to release this year.
